The most unusual Toyota Celica Liftback was the Lb Turbo Gr 5. Modified for racing, the 2.2 litre engine now cranked out 560 horsepower. Harald Ertl, Formula One driver, piloted an LB to victory in 1977 in Belgium, beating out a Porsche 935 Turbo.
I have two Celica's. A 1976 and 1977 fastback. I bought the '76 in 1997 for $1,800 bucks. It was in pretty good shape body wise but once I drove it for a month things just didn't seem to be holding together. I bought it with the intension or restoring it hopeing that it would last until I had enough money to keep it going.
I have owned five Celica's before and really it has been the only car I have ever owned.
